Background
The Web3 Wallet project was initiated to address core problems in today’s creator economy:
- Web3 complexity blocks mainstream adoption, with tools seen as too technical and intimidating
- Platforms extract disproportionate value, taking 10–40% of content creators' revenue. The wallet enhances this model by allowing creators to retain up to 100% (80% cash, 20% tokens).
- Fans provide engagement to platforms that fuel ad revenue but receive nothing in return. With the wallet, users finally gain value: they are rewarded with Points through gamification, which can then be converted into Tokens and used within the ecosystem.
Objective
Build a dedicated dApp that bridges Web2 engagement from the main social app with Web3 ownership, making staking with content creators the core mechanic and strengthening community participation.
Core goals:
- Maintain Healthy TVL: Preserve a high level of Total Value Locked to support and stabilize token value, improving market perception and liquidity stability
- Token Utility: Empower users to stake on creators, tying participation to creator growth and content quality, while encouraging users to retain tokens within the platform.
- Conversion: Enable conversion of Points earned in the social app through actions like comments, likes, and other engagement, into Tokens. This completes the circular economy loop and turns everyday engagement into tangible value.
- Wallet Functionality: Provide core functions (buy, deposit, withdraw, exchange) with potential for multi-asset support and NFT gallery.
- Revenue Model: Generate transaction fees across all types of wallet activity.
My Role
Led the end-to-end product design process: conducting UX audits, defining information architecture, creating personas and JTBD, benchmarking competitors, and delivering UI design. I ensured that conversion and staking flows were intuitive and production-ready for the Token Generation Event (TGE).
Who We Designed For: Personas
Defined two key user archetypes: Web2 novices unfamiliar with crypto, and Web3 experts demanding transparency and control. These personas clarified distinct needs and goals, ensuring the wallet design balanced simplicity for newcomers with depth for experienced users.
Mapping the Experience:
Information Architecture
Outlined the app’s structure, flows, and dependencies. This exercise revealed gaps, informed prioritization, and ensured a logical progression from earning points in the social app to converting, staking, and managing tokens in the wallet.
Learning from the Market
Studied leading Web3 wallets and apps to identify best practices in conversion flows, staking interfaces, and visual language. This benchmarking informed design decisions, while visual research provided inspiration for clarity, transparency, and trust-building in the wallet’s UI.
Dashboard: The Wallet’s Homepage
The central hub is designed to clearly distinguish between Points and Tokens, highlight earnings, and guide users toward staking. Informational banners and progress indicators were used to reduce confusion for novices while giving experts transparent visibility into their holdings.
Turning Engagement into Tokens
The conversion flow connects the value users generate in the social app with the Web3 wallet. Points earned through gamified interactions, such as comments, likes, posting, and missions, can be converted into Tokens at a defined rate, turning everyday engagement into tangible value.
To strengthen community participation and support TVL (Total Value Locked), we introduced the Creator Boost mechanism. By default, users are encouraged to boost the platform or select a creator to stake with, gaining extra benefits. For legal compliance, a 'None' option remains available, allowing direct conversion without staking. This balance gives users a choice while narratively guiding them toward actions that benefit both them and the ecosystem.

Staking that Builds Community Value
The staking feature is split into two tabs: Explore and My Stakes.
In the Explore tab, users can browse and select creators to stake. Since these are the same creators they follow in the social app, part of the decision also comes from viewing their content and posts, adding a social dimension to the staking experience. Detailed profiles and projected yields guide the choice, and selecting a creator requires choosing a lock period, reinforcing commitment while showing potential rewards.
In the My Stakes tab, users track all active stakes, view remaining lock periods, and claim rewards once the period ends. Beyond the financial appreciation, creators can also offer exclusive rewards, perks, or content to their stakers, creating deeper community engagement.
This structure strikes a balance between discovery and management, making staking both socially rewarding and financially transparent. It also contributes directly to maintaining a healthy Total Value Locked (TVL), reinforcing stability and confidence in the token economy.
Rewards that Drive Real-World Value
Tokens are not only for staking, they also unlock tangible benefits through partnerships. Users can redeem their tokens for real-world rewards such as gift cards, discounts, and exclusive offers from global brands and local shops. This feature bridges digital engagement with everyday value, reinforcing trust in the token’s utility and showing clear, mainstream appeal to both users and potential partners. Importantly, by expanding token use cases beyond the platform, rewards increase token demand and circulation, thereby strengthening the overall ecosystem's sustainability.
Wallet: Securely Send & Receive Tokens
The wallet section provides full transparency and control over assets. Users can view balances, track transaction history, and manage NFTs.
Clear transaction flows were designed for sending tokens, emphasizing irreversible actions and fees to build trust. Receiving tokens is simplified with QR codes and multi-network support, ensuring accessibility and reducing errors.
It also reinforces the self-custodial model of users retaining control of their assets while avoiding custodial risk, aligning with compliance and regulatory requirements.
Outcome & Learnings
Product Outcomes:
- The wallet launched as a core component for the Token Generation Event (TGE), ensuring users could convert Points into Tokens and stake effectively.
- Design decisions reinforced core goals: clear conversion flows supported the circular economy, staking flows preserved TVL, rewards increased token utility and demand, and the wallet interface built trust for transactions and compliance.
- Expanded the Web3 ecosystem with mainstream usability, helping bridge Web2 engagement with Web3 ownership.
My Contribution:
- Led design end-to-end, from initial research to final delivery, ensuring design coherence between the main social app and the wallet app.
- Ensured UX alignment with Web2-friendly strategy while meeting the unique requirements of a self-custodial crypto wallet.
- Expanded the existing social app design system to ensure consistency and brand alignment, while adding flexible components tailored to the wallet’s needs.
Reflections:
- Learned the importance of simplifying complex Web3 mechanics (conversion, staking, withdrawals) for non-crypto natives.
- Balanced usability with security and compliance requirements, especially when handling irreversible transactions and staking commitments.
- Understood the value of designing not just for individual user flows but for the sustainability of the entire token economy (TVL, demand, circulation).
